Effective Date: October 26, 2023
Welcome to introEdu! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the introEdu website (https://www.introedu.org/) and the services provided by introEdu. By using our website and services, you agree to comply with these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. User Responsibilities
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
- You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information when using our services.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for any activities that occur under your account.
2. Services Offered
- introEdu provides a platform to connect students with mentors for 1-on-1 video calls and advice.
- We facilitate payments for these services through Stripe. By using our payment and payout services, you agree to Stripe's terms and conditions.
3. Fees and Payments
When a booking is made through introEdu, a service fee of 30% is deducted from the total booking amount as a platform/service fee. The remaining amount, after any other applicable fees or deductions, is transferred to the mentor. introEdu reserves the right to change the platform/service fee at any time. Mentors will automatically be paid out through Stripe after a holding period set by introEdu, which may vary. By accepting payouts through Stripe, mentors agree to Stripe's terms and conditions.
4. Compliance with Legal Standards during Video Calls
introEdu encourages respectful and lawful interactions between users during 1-on-1 video calls. By using our platform for video calls, you agree to comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Users are prohibited from engaging in any of the following activities during video calls:

introEdu reserves the right to monitor video calls for compliance with these Terms and to take appropriate action, including the suspension or termination of user accounts, if any violations are identified.
Users are responsible for the content and conduct during video calls, and any legal consequences arising from their actions during these calls.
If you encounter any inappropriate or illegal behavior during a video call, please report it to introEdu immediately by contacting us at support@introedu.org.
5. User Content
- You are solely responsible for the content you post on introEdu, including text, images, and any other information.
- You agree not to post any content that is offensive, harmful, or violates any applicable laws or regulations.
6. Privacy
We collect and use your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on introEdu is protected by intellectual property rights. You agree not to use, reproduce, or distribute any content without permission.
8. Mentor No-Show and Cancellation Policy
- No-Show Fee: In the event that a mentor fails to attend a scheduled session without a confirmation of cancellation from introEdu, a 50% charge of the session's price will be imposed on the mentor as a no-show fee. This fee is designed to compensate for administrative costs and to ensure the reliability of our services. Mentors will be notified of this charge, and the amount will be deducted from their account/earnings.
- Cancellation Policy: If a mentor wishes to cancel a scheduled session, they must notify introEdu at least 48 hours in advance of the session's start time. Failure to provide this notice will result in the mentor being charged a cancellation fee equivalent to 30% of the session's price.
9. Mentee No-Show and Cancellation Policy
- No-Show Fee: If a mentee fails to attend the scheduled session without a confirmation of cancellation from introEdu, they will be considered a "no-show." In such cases, the payment made for the session will not be refunded.
- Cancellation Policy: If a mentee wishes to cancel a scheduled session, they must do so at least 48 hours in advance of the session time to be eligible for a refund. The refund given will be equivalent to the payment made for the session minus any processing fees. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session will result in forfeiture of the payment made for that session.
10. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms or engage in inappropriate conduct on our platform.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website, and you are responsible for reviewing them. Your continued use of our services after any changes to this Terms of Service will be considered acceptance of those changes.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
